Janet Zaldua
Janet Zaldua is the director of communications & special events for the Pasadena Center Operating Company (PCOC), which manages the Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau, Pasadena Convention Center and Pasadena Civic Auditorium. She joined the organization in 2008.
In her role she directs the PCOC’s public relations activities in an effort to build and enhance Pasadena’s image as a desirable meeting and visitor destination. Her responsibilities include media relations, social media marketing, Web site development, community relations, and the strategic solicitation of special events, including the prestigious Amgen Tour of California.
Prior to joining the PCOC, Zaldua was the arts and events coordinator/corporate sponsorship analyst for the City of Santa Clarita from 2005 – 2008. During her tenure she coordinated special events for the city, implemented marketing and advertising campaigns to promote events, and served as an active member of the Santa Clarita Tourism Bureau. From 2004 – 2005, she acted as the marketing and promotions manager for the Kern County Museum. Other communications-related positions include outreach and communications coordinator for Kern County Department of Human Services and public affairs representative for State Farm Insurance.
Zaldua received a bachelor’s degree in communications with a marketing minor from California State University, Bakersfield. She went on to earn a master’s in public policy and administration from the same university in 2003.
A California native, she enjoys golf, travel, cooking, painting, and spending time with family and friends. |
