Annual ReportMESSAGE FROM THE 2008-2009 CHAIRMANThis was another exciting and fruitful year for the Pasadena Center Operating Company (PCOC). Important construction milestones were met on the Pasadena Convention Center expansion project, which draws closer to completion. The PCOC’s successful efforts to bring the coveted Amgen Tour of California finale to Pasadena once again elevated our city onto the world stage.
A fresh, new destination marketing campaign branding Pasadena as “Simply More” was launched. The brand was woven throughout the PCOC’s meeting industry and leisure advertising campaigns, as well as all collateral and online materials. Adding to the accomplishments, sales endeavors continued to flourish. The Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau exceeded its hotel room night goal, which generated approximately $16,182,102 in economic impact.
With great appreciation, I thank my fellow PCOC board members, CEO Michael Ross, and the entire PCOC staff for their commitment and dedication. I also extend my gratitude to the Pasadena City Council, City Staff, and our hotel, business district and cultural partners for their continued support.
With strong leadership, a clear vision and much determination, we have laid the foundation on which the future of the PCOC will be built. 2009 promises to be our finest year yet!
